Preliminary Questions

Write about your experiences with writing, what you enjoy about writing, what your strengths are, what you'd like to improve.

I consider myself to be a strong writer and have always done well on writing assignments, I'm usually the one who revises papers for friends and rarely consult others about my writing. I am strong in grammar and sentence structure, but I would like to improve writing in a less formal context and work on developing my own writing voice. 

What are you hoping to get out of this class?

WI credit, improved writing skills, and an opportunity to work in the writing center.

Set at least one goal for yourself to work towards this semester. 

One goal I would like to achieve is learning to take a more methodical and planned approach to writing papers. Unless preparation components are required for a paper, I rarely spend time with the planning phase and simply jump right into the writing process when left to my own devices. I also want to become more open to receiving feedback and criticism, as the idea of having my papers scrutinized can feel daunting at times.
